Ts'ehlanyane National Park is Lesotho's largest national park, is located in the Maloti Mountains in Butha-Buthe District, and is part of the larger Maloti-Drakensberg Transfrontier Conservation Area.

This Lesotho northern park protects a high-altitude, 5,600 meter patch of rugged wilderness, including one of Lesotho’s only stands of indigenous forest with a number of rare undergrowth plants that are unique to this woodland habitat..

It is fitting that the park should bear the name of this Drakensberg endemic plant, as it may be the most important refuge for this plant in the entire Maloti-Drakensberg mountain range.

Thaba Bosiu is a sandstone plateau with an area of approximately 2km² and a height of 1,804 meters above sea level. It is located between the Orange and Caledon Rivers in the Maseru District of Lesotho, 24km East of the country's capital Maseru.

The plateau holds the memories of Basotho since as a nation; they associate themselves with their founder and protector, Moshoeshoe; the only king in Southern Africa in those days who managed to practice democracy and had the reputation of being a diplomatic leader.

The plateau is still revered not only by members of the Royal Family who still have direct contact, but by the nation at large, even international hence the justification for the developments such as tourists and interpretation facilities below the plateau by the government.

The park, Lesotho’s first national park, and second largest, is remote, rugged and beautiful, and getting there is always a worthwhile adventure, especially if you’re into wilderness, seclusion and fishing.

Sehlabathebe means the “Shield of the Plateau”, mirroring the rolling grasslands, wild flowers and silence provide a sense of complete isolation.

The Sehlabathebe National Park is located in the Maloti Mountains in Qacha's Nek District, Lesotho, and is part of the larger Maloti-Drakensberg World Heritage Site. Home to striking biological diversity, the landscape is dominated by grassland of various types. The larger ecosystem as a whole performs invaluable functions including providing freshwater to Lesotho, South Africa and Namibia.

Afriski is the only skiing resort in Lesotho, located 3050m above sea level (just below Mahlasela Pass, 3222 m) in the Maluti Mountains, operating near the Northern border of Lesotho and South Africa.

It is one of only two ski resorts in Southern Africa. The resort is a 4.5-hour drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria via the steep tarred Moteng pass and the Mahlasela pass. The resort can accommodate about 250 people and offers a 1km ski slope, beginners slope and operates during the winter months (june–august).
